About PCLP
The Ladder Program was founded on two principles: peer support and incremental progress. Students can group together to communually explore and prepare for their futures.
With the Ladder Program, students gain a dedicated time and place for career development, as well as access to peer mentoring and constructive feedback. The benefit of group sharing is cumulative group learning.
The best part of the program is that any student at any univerisity can start a group. It requires little more than a meeting space, some ambition, and the dedication to your future success.
The Ladder
The ladder is a symbol of the small incremental steps and peer support provided by the PCLP.

The Basics
The Ladder Program was started by two graduate students who realized the necessity of a structured career development process for fellow graduate students. The program has two main objectives:
-
to help students identify career goals
-
to help students prepare for those goals
The program is designed to teach students the core skills of career development, such as self-exploration, skill building, and communicating self worth. It simplifies the process so that it is not overwhelming and doesn't require a large time committment.
The program is versatile and can be adapted to fit students from any field of study. Even though the inspiration of the program was non-academic career development, the program still supports students with academic career interests.
